Gabriel Autry, MD

Gabriel Autry, MD
Class of 2025

"I learned about the fellowship program through one of my attendings in residency, who had completed their residency at UT Chattanooga. During my interview, I felt an immediate connection with not only Ben and Eli, but also with the rest of the outstanding Erlanger faculty. Throughout my year at UT Chattanooga, I had the opportunity to teach residents, learn more about ultrasound, and develop my practice as a new attending. Not only did Erlanger offer access to state-of-the-art simulation equipment, but it also provided the education and faculty to utilize it.

On top of all this, working at multiple sites during my year provided the breadth of EM I was looking for and made it much easier to look for job opportunities that fit my goals. After my year at Chattanooga, I ultimately took a position back in my hometown in Kernersville, NC, and currently serve two different ultrasound director roles: one for the Triad Novant hospitals and a second for the UNC Southeast residency in Lumberton. As I continue to settle into these roles, it has become obvious that the fellowship excelled at preparing me for my current tasks. I reflect often on my time at Chattanooga and can’t think of a single thing I would have changed. Chattanooga will always hold a very special place in my heart, and my only regret is not having more time with the exceptional people there."
